Update – July 2018

news update

Hello everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to give you an update on some changes I’ve recently made to this website and blog. As I’m sure you’ve noticed things have been a little quiet around here lately. Well, there is a very good reason for that — and no, I’m not just lazy (well, I mean, that’s not entirely true, but my laziness has nothing to do with why I haven’t been posting recently). Behind the scenes I’ve been busy migrating this website to a new host, completely reworking the back-end, and reorganizing it (applause-soundbyte.wav). Thank you, thank you.

While much of the content and visual components are similar or the same, the site now lives on a DigitalOcean droplet and is completely containerized and micro-servicesized (that’s not a real word, but I’m coining it now, and with any luck it will be the go-to buzz word of 2019). More importantly, it is running on my new wordpress theme I’ve been working on that I built from the ground up with Underscores (_s) and Bootstrap. All and all, I’m pretty happy with the results (but, you know, you be the judge).

Now, there is still a lot that needs to be done — for example, you may see some “Coming Soon” pages here and there. Don’t worry, I’m working on it. With that said, things may still be a little slow until I finish getting all the loose ends tied up, but with any luck, I should be back in full swing in the coming month. In the meantime, enjoy the brief respite from my ramblings.
